A store or vendor should give you a receipt for each sale and cash sales may generate a discount. Storewide sales are usually held in January (after the 10th) and July. The government determines all store hours and they are subject to seasonal changes. If you buy any item (e.g. cooker or an ISDN line) that requires electrical connection; you must hire an independent electrician to install your purchase. There are peripteros (kiosks) on almost every corner that sell everything from milk to junk food and usually have pay telephones and sometimes bus tickets.

Peripteros, Bakeries, Florist and Sweet Shops are open evenings and week-ends.
